Suzanne Lacy is an American artist, writer and a professor at the USC Roski School of Art and Design - her work focuses on social themes and urban issues.

- installation, video, performance, public art, photography, and art books

Lacy's piece The Crystal Quilt (1985-1987) resonates with my Tiles concept, as she uses a modular design in a large space.

This is one of several works by Lacy that explore the experience of aging, and in this case how aging women are represented in media and public opinion. The project was developed over a two- year period during which Lacy created a series of events and classes, including a lecture series, film screenings, and a mass media campaign in collaboration with almost two dozen artists and scores of volunteers. A key part of the project was an Older Women’s Leadership Series designed by Sharon Anderson, a series that brought 35 women leaders from across the state together in seminars at the Humphrey Institute. - https://www.suzannelacy.com/performance-installation#/the-crystal-quilt/

Mona Hatoum is Palestinian artist living in London - multimedia and installation work.

- industrial materials

- grid work

- mapping

- spacial

- political narratives

Cube (9 x 9 x 9) is a sculpture she created in 2008, made from black finished steel, presenting as barbed wire. Hatoum's narrative for this large intimidating piece is "…about presenting the audience with a set of objects and materials that may have certain associations and may bring out general feelings of discomfort or uncertainty, and this will be different for each person."

Susan Cianciolo is an American fashion designer and artist.

Susan Cianciolo is known for her craft-based style of working and collaboration with her 11 year old daughter. A lot of her work and inspiration derives from personal interests and associated objects.

This style of work resonates with me as it has similar connotations with my interests/practice of autoethnography.
