With an autoethnographic approach, I chose to look at Panels of Ceramic Tiles in the V & A. Comporganisation Box fits into the collection on a personally interpretive level. Traditional tiles are often ceramic or other ‘hardy’ materials, predominantly for flooring. I chose to work with cardboard, using pyrography. The fragility of the cardboard and the unpredictable notion of burning; matches my interpretation of Tiles being tangible grids for an attempt of practicing compartmentalisation. The title of this piece is a self-made portmanteau, - combining the words compartmentalisation and organisation. The Box itself is a physical necessity for these practices.
